Norman’s Cay

“Norman’s Cay is a small island of a few hundred acres to the northern end of the Exuma chain in The Bahamas. It is an island with a story and a spirit that belies its size. Over the years It has housed pirates, drug-lords, film makers, explorers, writers and fishermen. Their stories are embedded in the wild beauty of the island, where sheltering palms whisper in the breeze, giving way to soft beaches that slide into the sea. It is said that the water here is clearer than anywhere on earth. To swim in it is to feel suspended above the sand beneath the air, with only the horizon to mark where sea ends and sky begins.

To spend time on Norman’s Cay is to surrender oneself to the island’s rhythms and rituals, and bringing life to the cay requires a shared vision and common goal. It is a philosophy underpinned by a celebration of the island’s charms combined with a respectful commitment to their preservation. Developments use elements of the local vernacular, accommodations are purposefully unobstructive, solar energy is used for electricity, and waste and water are recycled responsibly.

The untouched sanctuary of the island is its greatest asset and we value the primal qualities of security, safety, and shelter as an integral part of our mission. The cay in its natural state is blessed in abundance with a feeling of each while being just twenty minutes from Nassau, an hour from Miami, and two hours from New York.”
